Tikkun Olam, healing the world, is a Jewish take on social action and giving back. Our Tikkun Olam Committee presents a Reconstuctionist frame, as we are called to political and environmental activism as well as tzdekah, the obligation to help those with less. Mishkan Ha’am provides many opportunities for members and friends of all ages to explore these ideas and put them into action. Our activities include food drives and coat drives and communal cooking for homeless people. We always have the most fun when old and young work together. This year we join other Reonstructionists in studying about and responding to the widening social inequality in America. We look forward to joining with you to do our part to heal the world.
