She’arim/Gateways is a fun, community-based Jewish School experience for learners in grades K-7.
More than a traditional “Hebrew School,” it is community-building for young people and their families. She’arim is the Jewish education that feels like summer camp all year long. Our “Hebrew School” is so different we don’t even like to call it Hebrew school! The only thing that’s the same is that we teach Hebrew. It is immersion in Jewish space and time. It is ownership of Torah and Jewish tradition – not by rote, but by wrestle – allowing our students to challenge the material. It is experiential learning through play, creativity, laughter, relationship building, and memory making.
She’arim/Gateways is a community of multi-aged learners with a mission of engaging Judaism as a portal: for creativity, for meaning-making, and for personal agency. Our name means “gateways,” and we offer transformative Jewish life experiences. We do so through a variety of soul, mind, and body-focused modalities.
She’arim meets once a week, on Thursday afternoons from 4-6pm and once a month on Shabbat (Saturday) from 10 AM-12 PM. We also welcome part time She’arimers who are not available on Thursdays to join us only at our monthly Shabbat morning meetings. Click on the links below to:
